Mary Zhou is a multimedia artist and an incoming MFA candidate in Poetry at Washington University in St. Louis (‘27). They are currently exploring Chinese ancestral spirituality and queer diasporic identity through visual poetry, lyric essay, and movement.
Mary is the author of cave mouth tongue loose (The Head & The Hand Press, 2024) in collaboration with visual artist Nora E Luks.
Mary has studied with Tin House, Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, VONA/Voices, and Brooklyn Poets. Their work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and is shared in Michigan Quarterly Review, The Offing, Fence, Foglifter, and ANMLY.
Mary has facilitated community art & writing workshops for Wendy’s Subway, Blue Stoop, The Arts League, and Main Line Art Center.
